Is There Sex After Menopause?

How to be happy and sexy at ANY age

Asking if there’s sex after menopause is like asking is there life after menopause. And of course how you perceive this transitional time in your life will determine the answer. Do you see this period as the end of something or the beginning of a new chapter? Are you fearful and anxious or open and ready for what comes next?

Menopause is the ultimate signal of the end of youth for women. Biologically speaking, the onset of menopause means that a woman's biological time for conceiving and birthing babies is over. This isn't so bad in itself. By the time you experience menopause, you most likely have no real desire to give birth to another child, or to deal with 20 years of raising children all over again.

However, as women, no matter what age we are, we want to be beautiful, relevant, and desirable. Society has sadly taught us that beauty is for the young. Young women can have babies. So there's an equation with sex, babies, youth, and beauty for women.

Midlife sex can cause anxiety whether you've been in a long term relationship or are having to start over and face dating after a long absence. Do you fear that you won't be able to have sex when you are finished with menopause? Do you fear that no man will find you desirable? Do you fear that you won't respond to sex anymore; that you just won't feel sexy?

Or, maybe you have been out of the dating game for many years, and the thought of having a new man in you life or in your bed frightens you to death! There are several reasons that as a middle aged woman you should not only look forward to sex after menopause, but should revel in it.

One big reason for you to look forward to sex after menopause is because now more than ever, aging is not the kiss of death when it comes to the mature woman. The cougar label has enabled women over 40 to have plenty of options. A cougar is a woman who is independent, mature, sexy, and in control. Who doesn't want to be this woman?

More to the point, men want to be with this type of woman. Many younger men are tired of the games and the drama that they get from young women. They want to have sex with a woman who is sexually, mentally, and emotionally mature. This leads to another advantage of post-menopausal sex.

A woman hits her sexual peak in her late 30s, and this lasts well into her 50s. If you are at this point, then you already know that your sexual urges are stronger than ever. Furthermore, you are comfortable with your body, and your man's body. If your sexual desire has diminished you may want to check with your physician to make sure there are no physiological causes.

Do you wonder if it's physically safe to have sex after menopause? Do you experience pain because of increased dryness? The great news is that there are many products on the market to help address any physical issues that come with sex and menopause.

Are issues with body image causing you concern because your body isn't as firm or agile as it used to be? This is where you have to do some work. Lack of self esteem is a big issue for most women, especially during this transitional time of life. It is very important to deal with this. Learn how to build self esteem here.

What can you do to make yourself feel more vibrant and attractive? There are plenty of things we have access to today to improve our outside appearance - we can buy anti-aging makeup, get a sexy new haircut, buy lingerie that makes us feel more desirable, color our hair to take off a few years, or shop for a new outfit that makes us feel confident and powerful.

But what are you doing to make yourself feel more vibrant and attractive on the inside? What are you doing to feed your soul and your self esteem? What are you doing to make yourself feel whole and special and yes, sexy? Sexy women know their power is not in their age, but in their acceptance of who they are. They are confident and radiant at any age.

Revel in the fact that you've earned your stripes so to speak. You've lived life, but it's not over! Now take this time in life to enjoy all that midlife sex has to offer. So, is there sex after menopause? Of course!
