If I Only Knew

When I was in my teens and twenties I was under the impression... actually, not much of an impression at all, come to think of it.

I was never one to fret over my appearance one way or another. However, I was a tad embarrassed over my body, especially when it was clad in a bathing suit.

I didn't want anyone to see how funny looking I was. But, wouldn't you know it, every time I wore a bathing suit, someone would be looking at me! Ugh!

Here I am in my forties now, and I look back at pictures of myself in my twenties. Was I crazzzzzzzy? No wonder someone was looking at me. I was hot stuff!

I can't believe that I spent my youth being "embarrassed". Embarrassed over my nose. Embarrassed about my ears. Embarrassed over my legs. Embarrassed about my skin.

The chances of you being as gorgeous as I was in my youth are pretty slim, but I can guarantee that you are just fine!

I also can guarantee that you won't believe that until you look back twenty years from now and see for yourself.

Now... if I could only acquire the wisdom of my seventies, so that I might see how young and vibrant I am in my forties.
