How to Become Happy Through Allowing
We learn how to become happy when we allow good things into our lives instead of resisting perceived bad things.
Stop resisting. Everyone has so called “bad” things happen. How do you handle these things? The old saying “what you resist persists” is very true. OK, you’re going about your day and you’re feeling pretty good. Then someone cuts you off in traffic or has 17 items in the 10 items or less grocery line. Well, sure, you’re going to maybe say some bad words or temporarily want to kill them. I’m not saying that life’s little challenges aren’t going to be there, BUT have you been with those people (is it you?) that when some minor annoyance happens they hold on to it for dear life and won’t let go? They go on and on and on about it until this minor little annoyance totally derails their day (and everyone’s around them). That’s true of the big and little challenges in life. How you handle a minor traffic frustration and how you handle the tougher issues (divorce, poor health, or job loss) are often similar. If you’ve been laid off and all you can do is think about this terrible thing that happened you will create bad feelings and unhappiness. Learn how to become happy just by allowing and accepting what is. If you clear your mind of resistance and accept your current situation you can start to visualize a happy desired result. Focusing your attention on a new better job will pay off so much more than an attitude of “why me?” and “the world is terrible”. It helps you to allow good things instead of resist bad things.
So, how do you stop the resistance so you can focus on allowing a better outcome? Here are the fastest and easiest ways: - Meditate
- Start a gratitude journal to help you remember and appreciate all the good things in your life
- Use positive affirmations that MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD
