How Old are You?
Do you lie about your age?
How old are you? Do you lie about your age because you're self conscious about every candle on your cake? Or, do you feel that how old you are doesn't truly represent how wonderful you look and feel?
How do you respond when someone asks your age? Do you feel a knot in your gut and then deduct 5 years? Do you refuse to answer? There are many reasons you give for lying about your age such as wanting to avoid age discrimination or wanting to avoid prejudgment. BUT what does that say about how we feel about aging when we are compelled to lie about how old we are? Are we part of the problem by showing the world that getting older is something to lie about? If we all stood tall and stated our age with pride and dignity would that teach the world that aging is not something to fear or be ashamed of? Or you can refuse to tell others your age because you know that your biological age is just a number and doesn't represent who you really are or how you feel.
