Having the wrong focus in school

During my school years I spent so much time on things that are totally unimportant and insignificant to me now. I guess that's something you have to learn from life experience, but I sure wish I knew how important education was back in high school.

I now know that gossip, trying to be popular and general social status in school does not matter in the long run. It's more important to focus on grades and academics to ensure a better future, financially and educationally.
