Change your beliefs if they’re not working for you
Before you can change your beliefs you have to ask, "What is a belief"? It’s just a thought you keep thinking, so if your belief in any subject is preventing you from being happy, just change your beliefs. Have you taken on some beliefs that aren’t serving you? Your beliefs are just things you accepted as true from your parents, siblings, friends, teachers, bosses, and the mass consciousness. They all mean well, but their beliefs don’t necessarily make sense for your life.
YOU GET TO CHOOSE.
You can change your beliefs RIGHT NOW.
To change your beliefs, you have to unlearn any thought or belief that’s not serving you.I always thought that there was a pre-ordained plan for my life and whatever happened to me was part of some master plan. It wasn’t until I reached my 40’s that I understood how limiting this belief was. Now I understand that life isn’t something that happens to me and that I need to be an active participate in order to have an extraordinary life, not just a life I’ve settled for by default. I only wish I had this awareness when I was much younger. Unfortunately many of us believe things once we see it instead of seeing something once we believe it. Experiment with something small and see how powerful it is to break long held beliefs that have limited your life experiences. Just think back to the past when it was believed that slavery was acceptable or women shouldn't have the right to vote. As we learn and grow as a society, society's belief systems change as well.
Break some rulesLook at some of the beliefs and practices that hold you back and keep you from expressing yourself. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t do or what to believe.
WHO SAYS: - You can’t eat dessert first?
- You can’t wear white after Labor Day?
- You can’t be a Mom after 40?
- You can’t start over at 50?
- You have to do things that make you unhappy just because you get paid for it?
- You should follow the crowd? – 95% of them don’t know where they’re going
- You have to work hard to get what you want?
- You have to eat just lettuce and yogurt to lose weight?
- You’re too old to go back to school?
- YOU CAN’T HAVE IT ALL?
Question those beliefs that are holding you back. No matter what your belief is, you can find the supporting evidence to back it up. So just find the evidence to support your new belief. Someone somewhere has probably done whatever it is you’d like to do – find the evidence. You can do it too. If you believe: - You don’t deserve to be happy
- You’ll never have enough money
- You’re not as smart as everyone else
- You pick the wrong men
- It’s selfish to put your happiness above someone else’s
- Nothing will get done if you don’t do it yourself
- Getting older is terrible
- I’m too old to change
- Life is hard
You’re not giving yourself a chance – what if you believed?- I deserve happiness
- I deserve all the abundance life has to offer and I know more and more money is coming my way
- I am smart and I learn something new every day
- I have learned from all the relationships I’ve had and now I know how to make the right choice in a partner
- If I’m happy, I will spread happiness to others
- I am so grateful when someone helps me even if it’s not how I would have done it.
- I keep getting wiser every year and wouldn’t trade that knowledge to be 20 again for anything.
- I can change any time I want, all I need is the desire to do so.
- The universe is a loving place and there is so much more good in the world than bad and when I focus on all the good, more good things will come to me.
Doesn’t that sound better? What are your limiting beliefs?
Your beliefs become your destiny so choose beliefs that make you feel optimistic, hopeful and happy.

Sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. ~ Through the Looking Glass, Lewis Carroll
