Back in my day...

If I received a dollar for the number of times I have either heard that said "Back in my day..." or the number of times I have let it slip out, I could probably retire!

What I wish I knew then was that we live today, in the here and now. There is no such thing as "back in my day". My day is today, and every day from now until the day I leave this earth.

Every day comes with opportunities that are unique, each of which can be tainted by comparing them with some past reality or some future imaginings.

The wisdom is: Forget yesterday, forget tomorrow, focus on today.
